With just a little thought and planning you too can eat healthy without spending a fortune.
Eating healthy on a budget! I believe eating healthy food is the most important element in a healthy lifestyle. It’s what fuels are bodies, nourishes our brain, increases energy, builds up our immune system, & I am here to say it doesn’t have to break the bank! With just a little thought and planning you too can eat healthy without spending a fortune.
-Grow you own food!! My #1 resource for budget friendly healthy eating! You control what goes on your produce, it’s a labor or love, & it produces veggies that can be frozen or canned, roasted, chopped, diced, sliced sky's the limit.
-Shop local!! My #2 resource for fresh, seasonal produce. It eliminates the middlemen & supports your local farmers market
-Buy in bulk. Most bang for your buck and it cuts down on the use of plastic and packaging. Thinks grains, spices, pasta, beans.
-Go meatless. No question high quality meats can get pricey. Try eliminating meat 1-2 days a week and adding in those legumes and grains.
-Join a CSA. Buying directly from the farm means no middleman. You get seasonal and more affordable food.
-Cook more! Pack you lunch instead of eating out everyday. You’ll be shocked how much you save
-Eat seasonal. You have probably noticed that produce out of season is more expensive. Stock up on the seasonal treats like peaches in the summer or Brussels in the fall. You can always freeze for later use when fruits is out of season.
